Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Real Coster: Journal of Community Engagement undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
The review process follows these stages:
-
Initial Editorial Screening
-
The editorial team screens manuscripts to ensure alignment with the journal’s focus, scope, and submission guidelines.
-
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will be returned to the authors without external review.
-
-
Reviewer Assignment
-
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject matter.
-
Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence, scholarly track record, and relevant research or community service experience.
-
-
Review Process
-
Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific quality, originality, contribution to community engagement, clarity of methodology, and relevance of findings.
-
Each reviewer provides a recommendation: acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection.
-
-
Editorial Decision
-
The editors make the final publication decision based on reviewers’ feedback and recommendations.
-
The final decision rests entirely with the editorial board.
-
-
Author Revision
-
If revisions are required, authors must revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe.
-
Failure to revise properly or within the deadline may result in rejection.
-
-
Final Check & Publication
-
Once accepted, manuscripts undergo a final editorial check, including proofreading, formatting, and citation verification.
-
The manuscript will then be scheduled for publication in the nearest upcoming issue.
-
Real Coster: Journal of Community Engagement is committed to upholding academic integrity, objectivity, and fairness throughout the review process.
