Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the digitalization of education have created both opportunities and challenges for faith formation among children in Christian education, particularly within Pentecostal contexts. Amidst the rise of automated technology, there is a growing need to reaffirm the role of the Holy Spirit as the center of spiritual formation, character development, and divine wisdom. This article reflects on digital pneumatology as a theological framework guiding churches and Christian educators in living out the principle of Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go” within the age of AI. Using a qualitative approach based on theological and pedagogical literature review, this study examines the integration of Pentecostal faith, digital ethics, and early childhood Christian education. The findings reveal that the work of the Holy Spirit is not constrained by technology but acts as a transformative power that sanctifies the digital realm and directs the use of AI wisely, contextually, and Christ-centeredly. Consequently, Pentecostal education for children in the digital age must integrate divine wisdom and technological innovation to nurture a generation that is spiritually, ethically, and digitally intelligent.

Abstrak

Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) telah mengubah cara manusia belajar, berkomunikasi, dan memimpin, termasuk dalam konteks gereja dan pembentukan pemimpin rohani. Fenomena ini menimbulkan pertanyaan teologis yang mendalam: bagaimana AI dapat digunakan untuk mendukung formasi rohani tanpa menggeser peran Roh Kudus sebagai pusat kehidupan spiritual? Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji secara teologis peran AI dalam pembentukan pemimpin rohani di era digital berdasarkan perspektif Pentakostalisme, yang menekankan relasi personal dengan Roh Kudus, karunia rohani, dan transformasi batiniah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka dengan menganalisis literatur teologis dan teknologi dari tahun 2020–2024. Analisis dilakukan melalui pendekatan hermeneutik untuk mengaitkan prinsip pneumatologis dengan fenomena digital leadership. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa AI berpotensi memperluas jangkauan pembinaan rohani dan memfasilitasi personalized discipleship, namun tidak dapat menggantikan karya Roh Kudus dalam membentuk karakter Kristus. Artikel ini mengusulkan model konseptual kepemimpinan digital berbasis Roh Kudus yang menekankan integrasi antara teknologi dan spiritualitas sebagai kerangka pembentukan pemimpin rohani di era digital.
