Focus and Scope

THECRED: Proceedings of the Theology and Religious Education Dialogue publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles derived from papers presented at conferences, seminars, and academic forums. The proceedings provides a space for scholarly dialogue among theologians, educators, researchers, and practitioners working at the intersection of theological reflection and religious educational practice in the context of a rapidly changing society.

The scope of THECRED includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

A. Theology and Biblical Studies
Systematic theology, biblical theology (Old Testament and New Testament), hermeneutics, historical theology and church history, contextual theology, and Pentecostal and Charismatic theology.

B. Christian Religious Education
Curriculum and pedagogy in Christian Religious Education (PAK), faith formation and spiritual development, Christian-based character education, technology and digital media in religious education, and children's theology and youth ministry education.

C. Christian Ethics and Philosophy
Theological ethics (bioethics, social ethics, economic ethics), political theology, philosophy of religion, theology and public life, and eco-theology and environmental theology.

D. Pastoral Theology and Missiology
Pastoral care, counseling, and chaplaincy, mission studies and church planting, urban mission and community engagement, ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, and Christian leadership and church management.

E. Interdisciplinary Studies
The intersection of theology with the social sciences, psychology, sociology, cultural studies, media studies, health sciences, artificial intelligence (AI), and issues of gender and social justice.

Each issue of THECRED carries a specific theme determined by the focus of its corresponding conference. Authors are encouraged to connect their studies with contemporary contexts and challenges.
