Open Access Policy

THECRED: Proceedings of the Theology and Religious Education Dialogue is a fully open access proceedings. All published articles are immediately and permanently available to the public free of charge, with no embargo period.

THECRED adheres to the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), which holds that scholarly knowledge should be freely accessible to all. Readers have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all published articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

The only constraint on reproduction and distribution is that authors retain the right to be properly acknowledged and cited as the original creators of the work. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), the full terms of which are available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

No Reader Fees
THECRED does not charge readers any fees to access, view, or download published content. There are no subscription fees, pay-per-view charges, or registration requirements for accessing articles.

Author Rights
Authors retain full copyright of their published work. By publishing in THECRED, authors grant the proceedings the right of first publication. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional repositories, share them on academic social networks (such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu), and post them on personal or departmental websites, provided that proper attribution to THECRED as the original venue of publication is maintained.

Digital Preservation and Archiving
THECRED is committed to the long-term digital preservation of all published content to ensure permanent accessibility for the global scholarly community. The proceedings utilizes the following preservation systems:

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): a distributed digital preservation system that enables participating libraries to collect, preserve, and provide access to published content. LOCKSS ensures that published articles remain accessible even if the original hosting platform becomes unavailable.

CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): a trusted community-governed archive that provides long-term preservation of scholarly content. In the event that content is no longer available from the original publisher, CLOCKSS triggers access to preserved copies through its network of leading research libraries worldwide.

PKP Preservation Network (PN): a free digital preservation service provided by the Public Knowledge Project for OJS-hosted journals and proceedings. The PKP PN ensures that published content is securely archived and remains accessible in the long term.

Through these preservation mechanisms, THECRED ensures that all published scholarship is safeguarded against technological failure, institutional change, or other risks to long-term digital accessibility.
