Author Guidelines

Manuscript Requirements:

  • The manuscript must be the original work of the author(s) and must not have been previously published or submitted to other journals, magazines, or publishers.
  • Manuscripts submitted to Real Kiddos: Jurnal Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini should be scientific articles based on either field research or literature reviews.
  • Manuscripts may be written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  • Unpublished articles will not be returned unless specifically requested by the author(s).

Journal Format:

  • Manuscripts must be between 4,000 and 6,000 words (excluding references), typed with 1.5 line spacing in Microsoft Word.
  • Use Arial font, size 12 pt, on A4-sized paper.
  • Margins should be set as follows: Top 2.5 cm, Left 2.7 cm, Right 2.5 cm, Bottom 2.5 cm.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the Real Kiddos Open Journal System (OJS) and should be sent in soft copy format.

Writing Systematics:

  • Title: Should be in capital letters, centered, bold, and in Arial font size 14 pt.
  • Author Name: Placed directly below the title without any academic titles, including the author's affiliation and email address.
  • Abstract: Written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, each ranging from 150 to 200 words, summarizing the issue, objectives, methods, stages of writing, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Manuscript Content: The manuscript must include the following sections:

  • Introduction: Provides background context, previous studies to highlight the novelty of the research, the purpose of the discussion, and the strengths of the article (state of the art).
  • Research Methods: Discusses the methodology used, explaining research variables according to the chosen method.
  • Results and Discussion: Presents research findings and analysis, supported by sufficient data.
  • Conclusion: Summarizes the findings or contributions, research limitations, and opportunities for future research in 1 to 2 paragraphs.

References:

  • At least 80% of references must be primary sources such as books, journals, conference proceedings, monographs, and unpublished research.
  • References must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style and should be managed automatically using a reference manager like Mendeley.

Additional Guidelines:

  • Articles must be neatly typed on A4-sized paper.
  • Articles should be written in formal Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  • Article length should be between 10 to 20 pages.
  • The cover page must include the article title, author(s) name(s) (without academic titles), institutional affiliation, correspondence email, and abstracts in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • The title must be centered, in capital letters, bold, and in Arial font size 14 pt.
  • Each table or figure must be sequentially numbered with titles corresponding to their content, using Arial font, size 10 pt.
  • References should be organized alphabetically based on the last name (without academic titles) of both international and Indonesian authors. They must comply with APA 7th edition guidelines. Manuscripts not adhering to the APA 7th edition style will be returned to the author(s) for revision. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all information provided in their references.
  • Use of Mendeley is mandatory.
  • Turnitin similarity results must not exceed 20%.
  • All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by reviewers assigned by the editor based on their area of expertise. Authors will have the opportunity to revise their manuscripts according to feedback from the reviewers or editor.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
