Abstract

This study highlights the importance of building resilience in early childhood as preparation for developmental challenges, with spirituality serving as a key protective factor. Christian Religious Education (CRE) and positive psychology are viewed as strategic in nurturing spirituality that strengthens children’s resilience. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between spirituality and resilience in early childhood from the perspectives of CRE and positive psychology, as well as to identify its formative mechanisms. A qualitative-descriptive method was employed through literature review of national and international journals, textbooks, and relevant documents. The findings show that CRE develops children’s spirituality through faith narratives, ritual practices, and secure caregiving relationships, while positive psychology reinforces it by fostering character strengths such as gratitude, hope, forgiveness, and optimism. The integration of both perspectives creates synergy between internal factors, such as meaning in life and emotional regulation, and external factors, such as faith community support, effectively strengthening resilience. This study affirms that developing spirituality based on CRE and positive psychology is a significant pedagogical and psychological strategy for fostering children’s holistic resilience.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya membangun resiliensi anak usia dini sebagai bekal menghadapi tantangan perkembangan, dengan spiritualitas sebagai faktor protektif utama. Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) dan psikologi positif dipandang strategis dalam menumbuhkan spiritualitas yang mampu memperkuat daya lenting anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis keterkaitan spiritualitas dan resiliensi anak usia dini dari perspektif PAK dan psikologi positif, serta mengidentifikasi mekanisme pembentukannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif melalui studi literatur terhadap jurnal nasional dan internasional, buku teks, dan dokumen relevan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa PAK membentuk spiritualitas anak melalui narasi iman, praktik ritual, dan relasi pengasuhan yang aman, sedangkan psikologi positif memperkuatnya melalui pengembangan kekuatan karakter seperti syukur, harapan, pengampunan, dan optimisme. Integrasi keduanya menghasilkan sinergi antara faktor internal, seperti makna hidup dan regulasi emosi, serta faktor eksternal, seperti dukungan komunitas beriman, yang efektif memperkokoh resiliensi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pengembangan spiritualitas berbasis PAK dan psikologi positif merupakan strategi signifikan dalam membangun ketangguhan anak secara holistik.
