Maria Pasca Kematian Yusuf dan Tanggung Jawab Filial Yesus: Analisis Naratif Yohanes 19:25-27

This study examines John 19:25–27 as a manifestation of Jesus' filial responsibility toward Mary who was a widow after Joseph's death. Through a narrative analysis of the four Gospels, this study shows that Mary was most likely a widow before Jesus began His public ministry. This conclusion is supported by six cumulative biblical indicators: the disappearance of the figure of Joseph from the Gospel narrative after Luke 2, the mention of Jesus as the "son of Mary" in Mark 6:3 which is unusual in Jewish patriarchal culture, the beginning of Jesus' ministry at the age of about thirty, Joseph's absence from the Canaanite wedding and throughout Jesus' ministry, Joseph's absence in the trial and crucifixion narratives, and Jesus' actions on the cross entrusting Mary to her beloved disciples. The expressions "Mother, this is your son" and "This is your mother" are understood not to be mere practical arrangements, but to relational declarations that form new filial bonds and affirm the concept of the spiritual family. This research enriches the biblical understanding of widowhood in the context of first-century Judaism and provides a theological basis for the development of a sensitive, inclusive, and communal-oriented pastoral ministry of the church toward widows.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini mengkaji Yohanes 19:25–27 sebagai manifestasi tanggung jawab filial Yesus terhadap Maria yang berstatus janda setelah kematian Yusuf. Melalui analisis naratif terhadap keempat Injil, studi ini menunjukkan bahwa Maria kemungkinan besar telah menjadi janda sebelum Yesus memulai pelayanan publik-Nya. Kesimpulan ini didukung oleh enam indikator alkitabiah yang bersifat kumulatif: hilangnya figur Yusuf dari narasi Injil setelah Lukas 2, penyebutan Yesus sebagai “anak Maria” dalam Markus 6:3 yang tidak lazim dalam budaya patriarkal Yahudi, dimulainya pelayanan Yesus pada usia sekitar tiga puluh tahun, ketidakhadiran Yusuf dalam peristiwa pernikahan Kana dan sepanjang pelayanan Yesus, ketiadaan Yusuf dalam narasi pengadilan dan penyaliban, serta tindakan Yesus di kayu salib yang mempercayakan Maria kepada murid yang dikasihi. Ungkapan “Ibu, inilah anakmu” dan “Inilah ibumu” dipahami bukan sekadar pengaturan praktis, melainkan deklarasi relasional yang membentuk ikatan filial baru dan menegaskan konsep keluarga rohani. Penelitian ini memperkaya pemahaman biblika mengenai status janda dalam konteks Yahudi abad pertama dan menyediakan dasar teologis bagi pengembangan pelayanan pastoral gereja yang sensitif, inklusif, dan berorientasi pada tanggung jawab komunal terhadap para janda.
